Overview

Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara – International Campus Diu (IIITV-ICD) is a satellite campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology Vadodara (IIIT Vadodara), an Institute of National Importance declared by an Act of Parliament.

IIITV-ICD has been established at the Education Hub, Kevdi – Diu, under a partnership with the Government of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (UT Administration of DNH & DD), with the approval of the Board of Governors (BoG) of IIIT Vadodara, on which the Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD) is a member. Graduates of this campus are awarded their degree by IIIT Vadodara.

IIITV-ICD is administered by the Board of Governors, Finance Committee and Senate of IIIT Vadodara, and admitted its first batch of undergraduate students in Academic Year 2020–21.

The Education Hub campus

IIITV-ICD is accommodated within the state-of-the-art campus of the "Education Hub" at Diu, spread over 25 acres (1,01,869 sq.m) of land, with a total built-up area of 12,908.84 sq.m. The Education Hub presently also houses a Government College (B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. streams) and a Polytechnic offering diplomas in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Marine Engineering, affiliated to Gujarat Technological University.

The Education Hub was conceived with three objectives:

• To provide quality education with the highest standards.
• To offer a stimulating learning environment for students.
• To provide state-of-the-art infrastructure supporting academics and research.

Director's Message

The Director's message outlines the institute's vision for building a centre of excellence in information technology education on the western coast of India, combining the rigour of an Institute of National Importance with the opportunities of a growing Union Territory. Visitors are encouraged to explore the academic programmes, research initiatives and student life reflected across this site.

Governance

As a constituent campus of IIIT Vadodara, IIITV-ICD is governed by the same statutory bodies as the parent institute:

• Board of Governors (BoG) – the apex decision-making body, with representation from the Ministry of Education, Government of Gujarat, UT Administration of DNH & DD, industry and academia.
• Senate – the principal academic body responsible for curricula, examinations and academic standards.
• Finance Committee – oversees the financial administration of the institute, including both campuses.

Policies & MoU

The campus operates under the Recruitment & Reservation policies, ordinances and academic regulations approved by the Senate and Board of Governors of IIIT Vadodara. The founding Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, and IIIT Vadodara, on 9 October 2020.

People

The campus community includes full-time faculty across Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and allied disciplines, along with academic officers and administrative staff who support teaching, research and student affairs.

Committees

Statutory and welfare committees operate at the campus to ensure a safe, fair and responsive environment for students and staff:

• Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) – addresses complaints relating to sexual harassment at the workplace, as mandated under law.
• Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) – provides a formal channel for students and staff to raise academic and administrative grievances.
